How to install Ubuntu on virtualBox ?

 First you need to have VirtualBox software installed on your PC . Install virtualBox software as I described in previous post.Once you finished your installation process , run the virtualBox software. Then you'll get following window.


                                         To create new virtual machine click New

Enter a name for the new virtual machine and select the type of the guest operating system you re installing

Select the amount of base memory (RAM) you want to allocated to the virtual machine.

Select the hard disk image to be use as the boot hard disk of the virtual machine. If there is already created hard disk image you can use it as boot hard disk otherwise create a new hard disk image by ticking create new hard disk. Then click Next 

Then click Next to continue this procedure.

Select the type of hard disk you want to create and click Next

Select the location of a file to store the hard disk data and select the size of the hard disk you want. Then click Next

Then click Finish. Once you press it, a new hard disk will be created. 

Check the parameters and if all are correct according to your choices press Finish button otherwise click Back and change parameters according to your choices.

Then you gets created virtual machine. By pressing settings you can change the settings of the virtual machine you have created. 

Now we need to install Ubuntu Linux operating system on this virtual machine.

If you have Ubuntu CD insert it into your CD drive. If you have the  .iso file use power ISO to mount the .iso file to a virtual CD/DVD drive.

Then click start.

Click Next to start process.

Then select the installation media type and the media source .

If the displaying information correct press the finish button to start the execution.

Now you gets the following  window. 

If you want to try Ubuntu without making any changes to your current System , select try Ubuntu  or if you want to install Ubuntu to your system select Install Ubuntu.

Then select your region ,Time zone and click Forward.

Select your keyboard layout you want and click Forward

Select virtual machine hard disk which we have created earlier and click Forward.

Enter your details with including your password and click Forward.

Next window display about the settings you have selected. If you re satisfied with the settings you can click Install to start the installation process or by clicking Advanced , Back you can do changes you want.

Then the Installation process starts.

Once all the packages are installed , click reboot. Now you can see Ubutnu is starting

Now you can log into your user account by typing your password

Now you have successful installed Ubuntu on your virtual machine.

Whenever you want to go the main Operating System of your PC , just press the right ctrl of the keyboard .
